Earn a Seat
Currently unavailable. Opens January 2011.
Applies to the Classic Seat only and cannot be applied to the Ultimate seat.
So you want to earn a free seat? Notice we said “earn” and not win. That means that you will actually have to do something besides click on a mouse to get it. If you are interested, read on.
Over the years, we have had the great pleasure of reading emails and letters from our customers about all the fantastic places they have visited on our seats. We love it when people use their bikes for more than just the local poker run. There is nothing more exciting than exploring a new vacation spot on two wheels. We have had the opportunity to ride to every state in the US and every province in Canada and we want you to get on your bike and ride! The more unique and far away the destination, the better chance you will earn a seat.
So, how does this work? Easy….follow these steps.
1. Before you order a seat, send us an email with the Subject “I Want to Earn a Seat”.
2. Tell us in the email where you are going and what you plan to do.
3. If we think you are going to a location that is an excellent one worthy of a serious ride, we will accept your application.
5. We will send a BeadRider Rally Flag with your seat and charge your order an extra $20 (Our cost for the flag).
6. Ride your motorcycle to the destination. Take a picture of your bike with your BeadRider seat and BeadRider Rally Flag in front of your destination.
7. Email us your picture and we credit you for BeadRider seat and the $20 we charged you for the flag.
8. We will post your picture here with your name and destination. You go on to enjoy fame and fortune.
That is all there is to it. We have a very limited number of flags, but if the demand is there, we’ll make more. The only thing you have to do is ride. So what are we looking for? Here are some examples:
Good Idea: You plan to ride from Maine to Pikes Peak in Colorado and take a picture at the top.
Bad Idea: You plan to ride from your home in Colorado to Pikes Peak in Colorado and take a picture at the top.
Good Idea: You plan to ride from your home in Colorado to Mt Washington in New Hampshire and take a picture at the top.
Bad Idea: You are going to wash your bike and take a picture of it in your driveway.
Good Idea: You are going to ride to Goose Bay via the Trans Labrador Highway and will need to wash it when you get there.
I think you get the idea. We want you to ride somewhere and see something. Whether it’s the largest ball of string in the world, the Grand Canyon or some other wonder, the goal is to get everyone out there to ride. That’s pretty much it. The only judges are Chris and Nancy and we reserve the right to change the rules anytime we want for any reason. And please, no photoshop works of art, lest we post your picture with appropriate ridicule.
And for now here is a standing trip that will always be approved. Ride your bike up (and down) the Haul Road in Alaska. Take a picture of your bike, your BeadRider and your BeadRider Rally Flag in front of the Prudhoe Bay Post Office with everything clearly visible. If you do that, you will have earned a free seat. Any other ideas, just tell us how you want to earn your seat. And get on the bike!
