"World’s Toughest
Motorcycle Competition”
The 2005 Iron Butt Rally
kicked off from Denver in August, 2005. Once again, many of the riders
chose to use BeadRider seats on their bikes. Shane Smith completed the
first leg of the Rally without a BeadRider seat. During this leg, Shane
became increasingly uncomfortable with the heat coming off his bike He
resigned himself to one miserable, hot ride for the entire 11 day Rally.
At the first checkpoint, Shane was able to borrow a set of
BeadRiders from a friend at the Rally. Shane noticed the difference
immediately and settled into a much more comfortable ride. Shane would
go on to win the Rally, the second Iron Butt Rally in a row where the
winner won on a set of BeadRiders.
Not only are we proud to have our seat on the winning bike
once again, we are even happier that our beads have once again withstood
the challenge of the “World’s Toughest Motorcycle Competition”.
And for the first time, our own Chris was able to compete
in the Rally. Though he did not win, he gave a pretty good showing. To
